October was a very busy month for Girl Power Hour – we had some exciting new partnerships, a great event at Duque Salon & Spa to support breast cancer prevention and of course – our fabulous launch of our NEW Eastside chapter on October 21 at The Woodmark Hotel on Kirkland’s waterfront.
Launching multiple chapters, in addition to the original Seattle chapter, has been a goal from day one for Girl Power Hour, and we feel like we totally nailed it with the help of The Woodmark, Clutch, 425 Magazine, Trophy Cupcakes, Lesley’s Chocolates and ALL the lovely ladies who showed up to walk the pink carpet in their finest.
The Woodmark Hotel offered a stunning space for the event – a gigantic spiral staircase led down to the pink carpet and white tent with the Girl Power Hour logo splashed on top. You know when you see hot pink, it’s time to network Girl Power Hour style. But, they didn’t stop there with fabulous touches – their bartenders were so kind to serve up the libations, including our specialty cocktails. This time we created Powerful Pinks (vodka and Chambord garnished with a lemon peel) and Delicious Diva Bellinis (sparkling wine, Elderflower liqueur and peach puree) for our Eastside gals. Oh, and did I mention there was a mashed potato bar? It was a huge hit! The Woodmark’s kitchen served up mashed potatoes in martini glasses, garnished with bacon bits, sour cream, cheese, chives… anything your heart desired. Definitely one of my favorite treats at Girl Power Hour’s thus far.
But, if mashed potatoes aren’t your thing, there were platters of fruit, cheeses, veggies, hummus, and specialty chocolates from Lesley’s Chocolates or pink confections from Trophy Cupcakes to nosh on at the end of the night.
More than 175 women showed up to toast the Eastside launch – snagging swag bags with treats from Calidora, David Barton Gym, Decleor, 425 Magazine, MD Skincare, Gold Class Cinemas, Innervibe and more and throwing in their business cards to win some of our BEST door prizes yet, which included round trip airfare to Portland from SeaPort Airlines and a 1 nights stay at The Jupiter, a staycation at The Woodmark and more. Per usual, it wouldn’t have been the event it was without the talented, smart women who showed up.
Thank you to VueSociety.com, 425 Magazine, The Bellevue Reporter, SeattleSpin.net, The Seattle PI’s Eastside Uptown Girl and Eastside Inside for featuring us in your blogs and helping us promote, and to EVERYONE for making it a successful Eastside launch. We look forward to seeing you again at our December 2nd Eastside event at The Red Door Spa at The Bravern! And if you’re missing that event (event is Sold out)… you know we have lots of special treats up our sleeves for our sisters across the bridge in 2010!
xoxo
