How to Tweeze Your Eyebrows — powered by eHow.com
“Shopping List: – L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Pencil – Tweezers Hi, my name is Tricia Mann, and I’m a beauty expert. Today, we’re going to talk about how to tweeze your eyebrows. There are two items that you’re going to need. First off, your tweezers, which I’m using a three-in one-tool that actually has the tweezers that come with it, which makes it very simple. The next is an eyebrow brush, which actually comes with this tool as well. The first thing you want to do is work in a well-lit room with a very well-lit mirror. You’re going to want to take a look at your brows and evaluate the shape that you desire. One thing you want to do is take your brow pencil and line it up with your eye area to see where your natural arch in your brow is. Brush your brows to the shape that you desire, using your brow brush gently, using light feathery strokes. Now, take your tweezers and tweeze the area just outside of that area where there might be any excess stray hairs. Sometimes, you might have some in between your brows. I always recommend under tweezing rather than over tweezing, because it takes a long time for that hair to grow back. Be sure when you tweeze, to do a nice, strong grip and pull to the side, because what can happen is if you pull straight, you can actually break the hair off, which will make it grow back faster, which means you’ll have to tweeze more often. All these items you need will cost between $10 to $20. The key item to this look is tweezers, and that’s how to tweeze your brows. Thanks for watching.”
How to Apply Eyeliner to Small Eyes — powered by eHow.com
“Shopping List: – L’Oréal Telescopic Explosion Liquid Eyeliner Hi. My name’s Tricia Mann, and I’m a beauty expert. Today, we’re going to talk about how to apply eyeliner to small eyes. Here are the tools you will need. There is one of them, liquid eyeliner. Take your liquid liner, starting at the inner corner of the eye, and use light, feathery strokes. The key with liquid eyeliner is to use light, feathery strokes to connect the dots, rather than one harsh line, for the most natural look. The reason I’m using liquid eyeliner is you can actually extend it out, making small eyes look larger, for that cat-eyed look. Once you get to the end of your eyes, you’re going to want to point your wand in the opposite direction and sweep inwards, just slightly outside of the end of the eye. When you have small eyes, it’s important not to put too much dark eye makeup around your eye, as it can actually make your eyes look smaller. Remember to work your way back in, from the outside in when you’re working on the outer corner of the eye, using light, feathery strokes. For the under part of the eye, use a very light hand and a small amount of product. Starting on the outer corner, gently use small strokes to connect together. Liquid eyeliner can cost from between $5 to $15. The key item for this look is liquid eyeliner. And that’s how to apply eyeliner to small eyes. Thanks for watching.”
How to Apply False Individual Eyelashes — powered by eHow.com
“Shopping List: – Maybelline New York Volum’ Express the Falsies Washable Mascara – Eyelash Curler – Individual Eyelashes – Blunt Nose Tweezers – DUO Eyelash Adhesive Hi, my name is Tricia Mann, and I’m a beauty expert. Today, we’re going to talk about how to apply false individual lashes. Here are the tools you will need. There are five of them, eyelash curler, mascara, individual lashes, blunt nosed tweezers, lash adhesive. First, start by curling your eyelashes with an eyelash curler. When using your eyelash curler, tilt upwards as not to pinch your eyelid, and gently clamp lashes into the curler. Next, apply two coats of your mascara of choice. When applying mascara, use a wiggling motion and always pull towards the outwards of the eye to sweep off any excess mascara as you work your way up. Now, we’re ready to apply our false lashes. Apply a small dollop of glue onto your hand. Using your blunt nosed tweezers, grab your lash and dip it in your glue, wiping off any excess on your hand. Starting towards the outer corner of the eye, apply the individual lash clusters in the eyelash area. You can use your tweezers to adjust them into the direction that you want your lashes to go. Continue applying your lashes until you get the desired fullness of lashes. All the items for this look cost between $20 to $30. The must have item for this look is the individual lashes. And that’s how to apply individual lashes with mascara. Thanks for watching.”
How to Apply Flawless Makeup — powered by eHow.com
“Shopping List: – Maybelline New York Dream Smooth™ Mousse – Foundation Primer – Foundation Brush – Maybelline New York Dream Mousse™ Concealer – Concealer Brush Hi, my name is Tricia Mann, and I’m a beauty expert. Today, we are going to talk about how to apply flawless makeup. Here are the tools you will need. There are four of them: foundation primer, foundation brush, creamy foundation, concealer color matched to your skin type, and concealer brush. Apply your foundation primer onto cleansed skin. Never tug or pull on your skin. Next, take your foundation, then using your foundation, brush put a little bit of foundation onto the brush, tapping off any excess. Using a light patting motion, apply foundation into the skin, blending downwards. The key to this look is the foundation brush, as it gives you the most flawless appearance. Pay careful attention around the nose area to make sure that the product is perfectly and seamlessly blended. Take your concealer brush and dab a small amount of concealer onto your brush. You are going to use this to cover any imperfections in your skin. Start covering your under eye circles using a light patting motion, working on the inner corner of the eye and working your way out. Next, identify any imperfections that you want to cover up with your concealer, and gently pat your concealer into those areas and blend either with your brush, or you can use a light patting motion with your fingers. Although you want to be careful not to rub, as that will just rub the product that you just applied right off your skin, which kind of defeats the purpose. You can use a little bit of concealer around the nose area to cover up any redness, as that area tends to be a little bit red for a flawless look. All these items range from between 40 to 80 dollars. The key item for this look is a creamy foundation. And that’s how to apply flawless makeup. Thanks for watching.”

How Do I Apply Eye Makeup for Hazel Eyes? — powered by eHow.com
“Hi, my name is Tricia Mann, and today we’re going to talk about how to apply makeup for hazel eyes. Hazel eyes are a combination of brown and green, so you can actually use complimentary colors, which would be brown and green, or you can use a color opposite on the color wheel which would be purple. Today, we’re going to use green. So, we’re going to use a flat brush and apply a light green across the lid. I always press this into the lid, which helps to increase the intensity of the color. You also want to be sure to tap your brush to tape off any excess color. Next, we’re going to use a contouring brush with a khaki colored eye shadow. When you use a darker color in the crease, you want to be very careful to blend it by using circular light strokes. If you want a more dramatic look, you can use a highlighter, which is a lighter color, which would be used on the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye and lastly, your eye pencil. We’re going to go ahead and start on the inner corner of the eye using very small strokes, feather like to connect the dots. Now, you’re going to curl the lashes and apply mascara, and that’s how to apply eye makeup for hazel eyes.”
How Do I Apply Sheer Cover Makeup? — powered by eHow.com
“Hi, my name is Tricia Mann, and today we’re going to talk about how to do a sheer cover makeup. First, you’re going to need your foundation brush, foundation color matched for your skin type, concealer and concealer brush. So, I have a little bit of foundation on my hand. I kind of use it as a palette and you want to take your foundation brush and actually dip it into the foundation making sure to blot off any excess and then you’re going to go ahead and lightly press that into the skin using a circular motion. This is a technique used in HD Photography. You want to actually press it into the skin using a circular motion. Using a concealer brush, take a little bit of concealer and apply that into the eye starting in the inner corner and working out. And now we’ve got that all blended, voila, that’s how you apply sheer cover makeup.”
How to Create a Smoldering Look with Makeup — powered by eHow.com
“Hi, this is Tricia Mann, and today we’re going to talk about how to create a smoldering look with makeup. Since the focus is on the intensity of the eye makeup, we recommend that you use a nude lip and a light apricot, or tawny blush, to draw the focus to the eye area. First, you’re going to want to apply a light gray color across the lid. Next, we’re going to apply a darker color into the crease, again tapping off the brush to remove any excess color. I like to apply a little bit on the outer corner of the eye as it gives the eyes a more open look. Next, we’re going to apply a light highlighting color to the browbone and the inner corner of the eye. If you have a little bit of shadow fall under your eyes, you can use some foundation on a Q-tip, and it acts like an eraser to erase that shadow that’s fallen underneath the eyes. Apply a dark gray eye pencil using light feathery strokes, finish off with a coat of black mascara, and that’s how you create a smoldering look with makeup.”
How to Cover Dark Circles Under Your Eyes — powered by eHow.com
“Hi, my name is Tricia Mann, and we’re here to talk about how to disguise dark under eye circles. With dark under eye circles, they are a little bit harder to disguise. So, you are going to need two concealers. One lighter concealer for all over the under eye area, and one heavier concealer which is going to give you a little bit more coverage in those areas where you have a little bit of a darker area, such as the inner corner of the eye. So first, we are going to take our light textured concealer and we are going to apply that all around the under eye area. You always want to be very careful around the eye area as not to tug or pull around the area. This is our heavier concealer. As you can see, it’s got a richer texture, which is going to give you a little bit more coverage in those darker areas. And that’s how you cover dark under eye circles.”
How to Apply Lash Extensions — powered by eHow.com
“Hi, this is Tricia Mann, and today we’re going to talk about how to do lash extensions. Lash extensions are individual clusters of lashes glued directly onto the lash to make your eyes really stand out. First, you’re going to need your lash adhesive. I like to put a dollop right on my hand. Next, you’ll need your blunt nosed tweezers which will actually help to apply the lashes individually into your lash line. Take your individual lash cluster and apply glue directly to the base. Now, you’re going to want to apply that lash directly into your lash line. And that’s how to apply lash extensions.”

Summer is the much anticipated time when we get to spend some time outside. Our eagerness to soak up those rays sometimes ends up leaving us over-exposed. It is entirely possible to end up in the hospital with 3rd degree burns from an afternoon basking in the sun. Sunburns can lead to irreversible damage to the skin, and significantly increase your risk of skin cancer. Here are some tips to take care of you skin while you are in the sun.

Hydration!!!!
Did you know most people live in a constant state of dehydration? Dehydration is the number one cause of wrinkles. In your collagen there are little droplets of water called Glyco Amino Glicans. These water reservoirs literally dry up when the skin is not hydrated enough. This leads to loss of plumpness in the skin and slows the production of collagen.
Drinking the recommended 6-8 glasses of water a day is not enough, you also have to have the right minerals in you body. You can get these from supplements and mineral enhanced water.
Products containing Hyaluronic Acid will also help keep skin hydrated. I am a huge fan of Skinceuticals B5 serum which delivers pure vitamins and hyaluronic acid, which provides a surge of intense hydration.
Air conditioning and electric heat also dries the skin out. To combat this sleep with a cold mist humidifier in your room and run it at night. The cold mist humidifier emits a mist into the air through out the night helping to keep the skin hydrated. You can purchase them inexpensively at any drugstore or online. Vick’s, makers of the popular vapor rub, makes a cold humidifier that is about $35.
Don’t forget the décolleté!!!
Unless you plan on wearing turtlenecks for the rest of your life, take care of that décolleté. The décolleté is the area from your bust to under your chin. I refer to it as the “neglect”-llete because it is frequently forgotten in most women’s beauty ritual. Be sure to wear sunscreen, and moisturize the décolleté. There are many great décolleté creams that are formulated especially for this vulnerable area. I suggest the Excellence D’ Lage Décolleté Concentrate which has skin enhancing peptides to increase cell turnover.
Anti-oxidants!!!
Fruits and veggies can be your skin’s best friend. Eating foods rich in anti-oxidants helps to diffuse the damaging free radicals that can quickly age the skin. Best part is we need to eat anyway, so you are killing two birds with one stone. I love multi-tasking! Some anti-oxidant rich foods include berries, and leafy greens such as spinach and kale.
“Supple”ments!!!
Keep your skin soft by providing your body with the essential fatty acids that it needs. Good fats are Omega 3’s and Omega 6’s. Taking an Omega 3 vitamin everyday will help repair and moisturize. They are especially good for acne-prone and very dry skin.
Resveratrol, a natural occurring substance found in red wine, is another supplement that I recommend for keeping your skin looking great. Not only is it great for metabolism, but it is rich in polyphenols, a powerful anti-oxidant. Organic, ResVitale Collagen-Enhanced Resveratrol is the one that I take.
To sun or not to sun?!?
Have you ever heard the Chinese proverb, “when cooking fish if you flip it too often it will fall apart?” The reverse is also true when it comes to sun exposure. The sun provides Vitamin D which reduces the risk of cancer, such as breast cancer, and boosts your immune system reducing your risks of cold and flues. It also makes you feel good!
On the flip side, sun causes age spots, breaks down elastin, causes free radical damage and hyper pigmentation. Try to limit your exposure and always wear sun protection. Keep in mind, you need a whole shot glass full of sun screen for your whole body and you need to reapply every 2 hours. The best type of sunscreens are mineral-based with Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide which reflect light away from the skin rather than absorbing it.
A good tan makes you look healthier, younger and slimmer. Instead of sunbathing try applying self tanner such as Sevin Nyne airbrush spray or get an airbrush at a tanning salon or spa. The newer formulations give you great color and provide long-lasting results, so you look sun kissed with out the risk of sunburn.
A peel sounds appealing!!!
A deep exfoliation can do wonders for the skin. Every so often age spots, scars, and other imperfections build up. A peel will slough that off and stimulate cell turn over at the same time.
Although an occasional peel is great for the skin, do not go overboard. Peeling too often is just going to dry out your skin and sensitize it, exposing it to more harmful environmental damage that will prematurely age your beautiful skin. I recommend starting off with a 15% glycolic rather than a more aggressive peel for your first time. Generally, oily, acne-prone skin tends to be the best candidates for peels.
There is no absolute short cut, but at least these tips will help preserve your skins youthfulness and vitality. Take care of yourself and keep looking gorgeous!
