Age Less: Insights into Anti-Aging science and your ability to truly “live young,” longer.
I recently got back from my company’s annual January Kickoff Meeting and Training at the Disneyland Hotel. As I was walking around the park with my business partners, I remembered my first time at Disneyland. It was only about 7 years ago. What was so wonderful about that first time, is I felt like a kid again! I felt like anything was possible for me in my life and I felt young. My daughter-who was 13 at the time-and I were watching the fireworks over Cinderella’s Castle….we both got a little teary (I know, pretty sappy, but we couldn’t help it). We looked at each other, then she said, “Mom, I don’t want to grown up.” I agreed and told her I didn’t want to either. As I think back on that first time to Disneyland and me stating that I didn’t want to grow up, I really meant it to some extent. I don’t want to “feel” old, see my body become frail, look in the mirror and wonder who that person is looking back at me. I don’t want to lose that inner spirit and fire that I had as a child.

As 2011 winds down, many of us are thinking about how we can do things better next year. The new year always gives me hope that I can truly improve in many facets of my life. One area I continue to seek improvement and I don’t believe I am alone in this either, is taking better care of my body and my skin. I wonder at times, is it really possible to control how I age? If it is, how do I do that and how do I know that what I am doing really helps?
I don’t believe Anti Aging is an issue of vanity. In my opinion, it is an issue of utmost importance and it is all about prevention. Preventing the breakdown of my body, the most important vehicle that will take me physically through this life. Our bodies are worth every bit of investment we can give them.
