Girl Power Hour is thrilled to announce Molly Mesnick will host the “Love You: Boost Your Wardrobe, Boost Your Business” makeover fashion show on February 16 at Neiman Marcus.

If you’re a fan of ABC’S “The Bachelor” (and, let’s be real, who isn’t?) you’ll remember Molly won the heart of Jason Mesnick, to whom she is now married. But we think of Molly as the fun, chic, super-successful girlfriend whose closet we’d like to raid and whose fashion advice we’d like to hear over a glass of wine! When she’s not working, playing sports with her stepson Ty, cooking with Jason, or hanging “in” with her family and friends, Molly is passionate about helping those in need, and she generously donates her time to give back to her community.

In preparation for our fashion show–and in anticipation of all the amazing makeover transformations we plan to see–we asked Molly a few fun questions.

GPH: What’s the best fashion advice you’ve ever received?
MM: Find a good tailor and use them for everything you buy! It is amazing how differently clothes can look when they are tailored to your body. Whether it’s a $10 top from Forever 21 or a $500 dress from Neiman Marcus, I always get my clothes tailored.

GPH: What trend are you most excited about for spring?
MM: Coral! I love having color in my wardrobe to offset all of the black and white, and coral is one of those colors that looks good on everyone.

GPH: Have you ever had a “makeover?”
MM: I haven’t had an official makeover, but I try to get to my favorite make-up counter once a season to get a new “face” for myself. I love changing up my look!

GPH: What’s your favorite item of clothing in your closet (a go-to favorite that you wear over and over)?
MM: My BDG Cigarette denim from Urban Outfitters! I’ve always felt that premium denim is so important in a wardrobe, but I can honestly say I’ve never had a better fit than my jeans from Urban. They hug in all of the right places, but also have a little stretch in them for comfort. With the silhouette of a skinny jean, I can easily dress these up with heels or dress them down with a pair of ballet flats–definitely my “go to” item!

GPH: If you feel like you’re getting stuck in a style rut, what do you do to break out of it?
MM: I’m online ALL DAY LONG looking at fashion blogs. This is honestly how I get ideas of what to wear. I’ve never considered myself a trendsetter, so I pay very close attention to the fashion industry, what’s hot/what’s not, and work it into my wardrobe accordingly.

Thanks Molly!

I’m very pleased to introduce everyone to my dear friend Tiffany Lowry. Many of you may already know Tiffany, because you’ve heard her giving great make-up tips on Movin 92.5′s morning show (they call her “Miss Make-up”) or Northwest Afternoon or New Day Northwest. Or perhaps you’ve seen her work in the pages of magazines (too many to list!) or seen her interviews in The Seattle Times, nwsource.com, or countless style blogs. Or–JUST MAYBE–you’ve had the pleasure of having Tiffany make-over your haircut or hair color (she’s the best hair stylist in Washington) at RedX Salon on Capital Hill.

She’s an extremely talented, ingenious stylist and the kind of girl you just want to hang out with (and I guarantee you’ll end up walking away feeling prettier and more stylish as a result!).

This Sunday, we invite you all to hang out with Tiffany–and dozens of local fashionistas–at the “Swap Till You Drop” event on Sunday, April 10th. Tiffany will host a Make-up Clean-up workshop, and she will help you clean out your cosmetics case and get on trend for spring.

We think everyone deserves a toast and round of applause. And that’s not all…

At our 3-year Anniversary Party on September 24th, we will award three deserving women with our first-ever GPH Power Awards. We will recognize 2010′s Top Female Entrepreneur, Top Female Philanthropist and one Woman on the Rise. With so many amazing women in our area, the GPH Power Team is anticipating tough competition. In preparation of the upcoming premiere of SATC2 (!!!) we’ve decided to celebrate in a BIG way – we’re giving away a week’s worth of SATC2-worthy prizes! Including, but not limited to, one golden ticket to Girl Power Hour’s sold out, private Sex and the City party at Big Picture on May 28th and the $350 shoe prize from David Lawrence!

Sex and the City is all about the shoes…we know Carrie Bradshaw is all about her Jimmy Choos, and shoes, shoes, shoes.

Carrie: The fact is, sometimes it’s really hard to walk in a single woman’s shoes. That’s why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.

Carrie: I’ve spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!

Carrie: I’m not home, but my shoes are. Leave them a message.

So we got to thinking… we want to see your shoes, gals! Here’s what you need to do to be entered to win one of five BIG prizes next week (listed below) – take or find a picture of you wearing your most fabulous (or favorite) heels, and:

1. Tweet the picture to @girlpowerhour or post it on our Facebook page. Each of these will earn you two entries into the contest (for a total of four, if you do both).

2. Tweet or blog about the contest (and encourage your friends to enter!) for one entry. (One entry per Tweet, one entry per blog post). Make sure you leave a comment here, with a link to your Tweet or your blog post. If you don’t leave it in the comments section, we can’t count it!

3. Tell us in the comment section below about your favorite pair of shoes, when and what you bought them for, for another entry!
